Job Title: Insight Data Analyst for Marketing and E-commerce

Responsible to: Marketing Director

Working closely with: Head of E-commerce Operations, Finance Director



We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the continued success across our E-commerce and Marketing teams, by driving and developing the area of data analytics. The successful candidate will be an analytical, data driven and strategic thinker; ideally with previous digital marketing experience. The Insight Data Analyst will be a crucial part of a small, dynamic and fast-growing team based in West London. This is an exciting opportunity to develop in a fast paced, high-growth environment while making an immediate impact to the business through data insights.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Structuring, analysing and effectively handling data, to support in well informed strategic decision making and drive growth
  • Providing extensive analysis around, but not limited to, the performance of:
    • General E-commerce trading and platform performance
    • Various Digital Marketing channels including Search, Social and Google Shopping
    • Direct Mail campaigns, including seasonal catalogues
    • Promotional impact
    • Customer behaviour and lifecycle
    • Product performance
    • Industry and competitor trends
    • User experience and site developments (A/B testing)
    • Social media platforms
    • Translating raw data into clear and digestible insights for key stakeholders (internal and external) to be used for actionable strategies
    • Running daily, weekly and monthly reports - accurate and of highest standards
    • Work closely with Marketing Director on developing budgets, constantly adjusting and optimising spend based on sales performance, KPIs and trends
    • Working with website analytical tools such as Google Analytics and other where necessary
    • Working with CRM software (Ometria and/or other similar) for customer behaviour insights
    • Constantly test new ideas and closely monitor their performance
    • Supporting the E-commerce and Marketing team with general analysis and reporting
    • Evolving our reporting repertoire and ensure that the accuracy of data and reports are always at the highest quality of standards; innovation is key to the role, including finding new ways to analyse, draw insight and deliver it to the business in a timely and efficient way

This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business.

Candidate’s background 

  • BS/MS degree with focus on mathematics and/or statistic
  • Experienced user Google Analytics
  • Advanced user Excel
  • Strong understanding of all marketing channels and how they interlink and affect each other
  • The role can be adjusted to fit either a graduate with limited working experience or a candidate with experience from a similar role
  • The following are highly desirable: 
    • Proven digital marketing experience within an E-Commerce retail environment
    • Experience using Ometria or similar CRM software
    • Hands on SEO experience
    • Experience working with third party marketing agencies
    • Experience working with CRM software and email service providers
    • Demonstrable knowledge of email marketing, CRM and omnichannel marketing
    • The following are beneficial:
      • Experience planning and executing social media strategies
      • Experience with SQL
      • Experience working with affiliate platforms
      • Experience using and editing HTML

Key Personal Competencies /Skills 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of tracking systems and websites
  • Commercially focused and driven with the ability to work towards metrics
  • Very comfortable using data to make recommendations and drive decisions and have a solid knowledge of website analytics tools, with excellent Google Analytics skills in particular
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong, energetic character, able to positively communicate strategic ideas and adapt to changing requirements effectively
  • Ability to adhere to budgets
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
